    \r\nAn assessment of expressive language for older children and adults, based on the popular STASS assessment. The DASS uses the same format and constructions as the STASS to elicit grammatical structures at Clause, Phrase and Word level from Stages I-IV on the LARSP chart, but the pictures have been re-drawn to appeal to older age groups. The pictures are A5 size in full colour and are presented in a display book. The assessment has been trialled with both adults and adolescents with learning disabilities. Therapists find it user friendly and reported that as well as assessing linguistic competence, during the assessment there was an improvement in attention, general responsiveness and elicitation of connected speech.
